Messaging is a pattern everyone knows intimately, so the details matter enormously — bubble hierarchy, timestamps, read states, and an input that’s always within thumb’s reach.
I focused on conversation legibility and a calm, uncluttered thread, because in chat the content is constant and the chrome has to disappear.
With patterns people use every day, the details are the design.
